The Binance hack was reported on 2026-10-29 at 20:20 UTC, with losses put at about $6.3B across nine networks, according to reporting cited in the sources. KadenaTrace's automatic trace shows $1,588.0M moved out of the receiver wallet 0x5227f6…2f8c and $1,330.1M still held in traced wallets [KadenaTrace trace]. Tether froze $971.1M USDT at that wallet on Ethereum, per Crypto Briefing. Other reports describe the attacker dumping altcoins and moving stolen SOL into Bitcoin via THORChain. Attribution to North Korea's TraderTraitor group has been made by the FBI and by Chainalysis and TRM Labs, though North Korea has denied involvement. Recovery remains under investigation, and Binance says it has covered its losses from its own balance sheet.
